From December 14, 2024 to January 12, 2025, the Château de Flaugergues in Montpellier transformed its grounds into a magical universe. The Odyssée Lumineuse, organized by 1001 Lumières, took place for two weeks in the gardens of the Château. This first edition in Montpellier offered visitors an immersive experience, immersing young and old alike in a magical world.

As soon as night fell, the castle grounds were lit up with 800 luminous sculptures of magical animals. These included dragons, pandas and many other fantastic creatures. Thanks to these installations, the estate was transformed into a veritable illuminated odyssey.

8 km of silk, 26 tons of metal, 25,000 LED bulbs, 40 craftsmen… and sculptures up to 20 meters long. The lights transformed Flaugergues, much to the delight of our visitors.

A magical show for young and old

In addition to the light show, visitors were treated to a breathtaking spectacle on the castle esplanade. Each evening, giant bubbles, magical illuminations and a drone show dazzled spectators.

A desire to preserve L’Odyssée Lumineuse?

L’Odyssée lumineuse aims to raise awareness of our endangered biodiversity. With this in mind, the exhibition presents the main animals on the brink of extinction, such as the Malayan tapir, the Mandrill monkey, tigers, the Galapagos giant tortoise and many others.
