Event description
At the start of summer, the Illustre Théâtre de Pézenas presents Molière’s Le Malade Imaginaire on the terrace of the Château de Flaugergues.
Story: The hypochondriac Argan plans to marry off his daughter Angélique to Thomas Diafoirus, nephew of his personal physician, as soon as he too becomes a doctor. But Angélique loves Cléante. Toinette, the maid, opposes the marriage and decides both to help Angélique and to confuse Béline, Argan’s second wife, who loves her only for her inheritance.
Feints, clowning and enemas, as well as social criticism, follow one another in this masterpiece of the comic repertoire, featuring Molière’s favorite themes.
The charm really works!
